Betty & Mary: Neighbors has officially secured fiscal sponsorship through Film Independent, marking a significant funding milestone for the second film in the trilogy. As one of the most respected nonprofit organizations supporting independent filmmakers, Film Independent provides both credibility and infrastructure as the project moves forward.
What Fiscal Sponsorship Means
With Film Independent serving as fiscal sponsor, all donations to Betty & Mary: Neighbors are now fully tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Contributions are processed directly through Film Independent, the organization behind the Film Independent Spirit Awards and a longtime champion of artist-driven storytelling.

Fueling the Next Chapter of Betty & Mary Mayhem with Film Independent Support
Fiscal Sponsorship helps advance creative development and pre-production while building the financial momentum needed to bring Betty & Mary: Neighbors to the screen. Following recent screenplay recognition at The Independent Short Awards and Indie Shorts Fest, and Hollywood Just4Shorts, the project is now positioned to move forward with tangible backing from the independent film community.
Betty & Mary: Neighbors is a fiscally sponsored project of Film Independent, a non-profit independent media arts organization. Film Independent will receive grants for the charitable purposes of Betty & Mary: Neighbors, provide oversight to ensure that grant funds are used in accordance with grant agreements, and provide reports as required by the grantor. Contributions for the charitable purposes of Betty & Mary: Neighbors must be made payable to Film Independent and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
